What are the anti-loosening methods of fasteners?

1. Non-removable anti-loosening
Mechanical fasteners are used to fix and pin between the threaded piece and the connected piece or between the threaded piece and the threaded piece to prevent loosening. The advantage of this method is that it is reliable to prevent loosening, which generally depends on the static strength or fatigue strength of the mechanical fastener (or the fastener itself, such as a slotted nut). Its disadvantage is that the weight of the fastening connection is increased, the manufacture and installation are troublesome, and the mobile installation cannot be carried out, so the cost is high. Because of its high reliability, it is still widely used in some important parts of mechanical products and aerospace products. -Glue screws
Bolt (or screw) head and nut end face punch point riveting: After tightening, the bolt (or screw) nut is locally deformed by punch point riveting to prevent mutual loosening.
Bonding of locking adhesive: epoxy resin or anaerobic adhesive is applied to the matching thread surface. After the adhesive is cured, the matching thread can be firmly bonded to achieve the purpose of locking and preventing loosening. Different adhesives tend to have different locking capabilities. Fasteners coated with epoxy resin have high bond strength and are not removable. Although the fastener coated with anaerobic adhesive is removable, it is difficult to clean the residual adhesive on the thread surface after disassembly, and the thread may be damaged, so the fastener should not be reused.
Adhesives can also be used as sealing materials for threads, but they cannot withstand high temperatures. The best adhesives can operate at a temperature of 230°C; the worst adhesives have an operating temperature of only 94°C.
2. Increase the anti-loosening of friction
The purpose of anti-loosening is achieved by increasing the friction between threads or between bolts (screws) and the end faces of nuts, or by increasing the friction between them at the same time. Its biggest advantage is that it is not limited by the use of space, can be repeatedly assembled and disassembled, and can be motorized assembly. This anti-loosening method is the most widely used in the machinery manufacturing sector and the aerospace field. -Anti-loosening screw
